Nature View

Two Open Triangles Up, 1982, Stainless steel

About this sculpture

George used many geometric shapes in his sculptures, including lines, circles, squares and triangles. This artwork is made of two triangles, which move with the slightest breeze. Notice how he treated the outline of each triangle as a frame for the trees, skies, and even the buildings around. While this sculpture looks simple, it makes you look at nature in new ways!

Kids Activity

Look through the moving triangles: how many different views can you count? Do you see other triangles? Which is your favorite view, and why?
